5. Course Rationale (Justification)
The study of caste has traditionally been limited to sociological and political interpretations. This course introduces Shailaj Caste Theory, an original Indian holistic scientific framework that redefines caste as a psychobiological, functional, and non-discriminatory phenomenon.
Aligned with NEP 2020, the course integrates Indian philosophical foundations with modern psychology, genetics, neuroscience, and ethics, promoting critical thinking, scientific temper, social harmony, and indigenous knowledge systems.

After completing this course, students will be able to:
Understand caste beyond rigid social and political frameworks.
Analyze caste as a psychobiological and functional concept.
Integrate Indian philosophical ideas with modern scientific perspectives.
Develop critical and ethical reasoning regarding social diversity.
